Google Ads with dry runs by default.

Most changes run as a dry run first. Google validates them, and the account stays as it is until someone explicitly confirms. The agent can read every metric in the account, and it also researches keywords with search volume and suggests changes.

What it does

Read and change.

Your agent works with exactly the permissions of the connected account. Read tools are quick to enable. Tools that change data stay off until you explicitly turn them on.

What your agent can read

  • Any report across campaigns, ad groups, ads, keywords, search terms, assets, audiences and conversions, with all metrics and segments.
  • The account's change history.
  • Keyword ideas for terms or a URL, with search volume, competition and bid range.
  • Google's recommendations for the account.

What your agent can change

  • Pause and enable campaigns, change daily budgets.
  • Add negative keywords.
  • Create responsive search ads. Character lengths are checked, and new ads start paused.
  • Apply or dismiss recommendations.
  • Further changes to campaigns, bids, assets, Performance Max asset groups and experiments.

Only once you enable it, per agent and per tool. If you want, a person also approves each action before it runs.

Use cases

How teams use Google Ads.

Marketing, sales and RevOps run these as recurring routines or on request.

  1. 01

    Budget pacing every morning

    Daily, before the workday starts
    1. Compare spend per campaign with the monthly plan
    2. Spot over- and underdelivery
    3. Prepare budget changes as a dry run

ResultAt the end of the month, the budget hasn't run out early and isn't left over.

  2. 02

    Clean up search terms

    Once a week
    1. Find expensive search terms with no conversions
    2. Suggest matching negative keywords
    3. Check them in a dry run, then apply

ResultSearch terms that don't convert eat less budget, and every change is documented.

  3. 03

    New ad variants

    When click-through rate drops
    1. Analyze the best-performing headlines and descriptions
    2. Write new responsive search ads
    3. Create them paused for approval

ResultThe new variants sit in the account and only go live after your OK.

  4. 04

Keyword research for a new landing page

    Before the campaign launch
    1. Get keyword ideas for the URL
    2. Cluster them by volume and bid range
    3. Suggest an ad group structure

ResultA campaign structure based on search volume and bid data.

Built-in safeguards

  • Changes to status, budgets, keywords and ads run as a dry run by default, and so do all further changes. Only recommendations take effect immediately.
  • New ads start paused.
  • If you want, changes only run after a person approves them, for example the team lead: in the Data Hub, in Slack or via a link. On top of that, each agent has daily and hourly limits.
  • Guardrails for every agent: deletes and changes to more than 10 records need approval by default, an emergency brake kicks in on a run of deletes, and you can set your own rules per tool.
  • Each connection has an access level: Read, Write or Admin. Where the vendor allows it, the Data Hub only requests the permissions for that level.
  • Credentials are stored encrypted in the Data Hub, and the agent never sees them. Every call is logged.

What it can't do

  • Since August 31, 2026, Google has prohibited hosted intermediary layers that provide Ads functionality to multiple unrelated businesses. This doesn't apply to your own company's ad accounts and agents.
  • Customer Match and offline conversion uploads now only go through Google's Data Manager API. That API needs to be enabled separately.
  • Billing, account setup and policy appeals are interface only. Keyword Planner has stricter query limits.

What's possible here depends on what Google Ads offers through its API. We make available what the API allows, as ready-made tools or through the generic API request to Google Ads, and we check new API versions regularly.
